Finegold Alexander Architects is thrilled to announce its selection as the architect for the renovation and expansion project of the J.V. Fletcher Library in Westford, MA. Following our comprehensive Schematic Feasibility Study, the Town of Westford chose us to address the evolving needs of this historic library, a vital part of the community since its establishment in 1895.

The team’s vision for the JV Fletcher Library embraces a harmonious blend of historical preservation and modern functionality. The design prioritizes the preservation of the library's historic front facade, ensuring its timeless charm endures while seamlessly transitioning into the 21st century. A key feature is creating an open and inviting space on the main entry level, expanding the Children's area, and providing direct access to a captivating outdoor storytelling space.

On the second floor, the team is crafting expanded areas for adult collections, diverse meeting spaces, and a dedicated young adult section, fostering a flexible and vibrant environment. Accessibility is a core focus, ensuring an inclusive experience for all patrons.

“We are honored to been trusted with the renovation and expansion of the J.V. Fletcher Library. Our design approach focuses on preserving the library’s heritage while enhancing its functionality and inviting atmosphere. This project embodies our commitment to seamlessly integrating history and modernity.”
