As we reflect back and close on Women’ History Month, we celebrate the achievements made by women across the local architecture industry. Finegold Alexander Architects President and Principal Rebecca Berry, AIA, LEED AP was interviewed and featured in Boston Society for Architecture’s piece Women in Architecture: Progress, Pitfalls, and New Leadership in Boston. Article author Maaha Rafique was joined by BSA President Anda French, AIA to cover Anda’s career, from undergraduate to present day, and her perspective and opinions on a plethora of topics around changes over time, supportive work environments, developments in the industry and ways to continue to promote diversity and equity for women in the field.
In addition to Anda French’s interview, the piece features several prominent women leading local architecture firms. Rebecca and her peers, Yanel de Angel FAIA of Perkins & Will, Kelly Haigh AIA of designLAB architects, Amy Korté AIA of Arrowstreet, Christine Wilson of Copley Wolff Design and Rachel J Zsembery AIA of Bergmeyer, were chosen to be interviewed for their roles as leaders in Boston’s architecture industry. Discussing current projects, sources of inspiration, pieces of advice and more, Rebecca and her colleagues celebrate the end of the holiday month with thoughtful reflection.
