Finegold Alexander was proud to take part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Newbury of Brookline, a premier senior living community by Kisco Senior Living in the Fisher Hill neighborhood. This marks Kisco's first senior living community in Massachusetts, offering residents a blend of comfortable elegance, quality care, and the five-star hospitality for which Kisco Signature is renowned.
“The Newbury project is a true testament to what is achievable through collaboration," says Principal Ellen Anselone. "We are proud to be Architect-of-Record for the first Kisco Senior Living community in Massachusetts, providing residents with an elegant and comfortable environment that seamlessly merges the modern new construction with the historic preserved 1895 Mitton House.”
Project Manager Mary McCarthy attended the ribbon cutting on Dec. 9 with founding members and local officials, welcoming new residents and community members to their new homes.
“It was a pleasure to raise a glass to toast the successful construction of this facility and share this moment with our design partners,” she says.
As Architect-of-Record for the project, Finegold Alexander collaborated with Robert A.M. Stern Architects as the design architect and Pembrooke & Ives as the interior designer to honor the rich history of the Mitton House. Built in 1895, the former mansion once was owned by one of Boston’s most influential merchants then used to house Newbury College. The restoration of the 11,000 square feet building includes common areas and six residential units.
“Brookline has been a place of distinguished design since the days when Frederick Law Olmsted and H.H. Richardson lived in the neighborhood,” says Sargent Gardiner, Partner at Robert A.M. Stern Architects. “Our design for The Newbury springs from this rich architectural context, emulating its variety, interaction with the landscape, and domestic feel.”
The Newbury incorporates an all-inclusive, elevated approach for independent, assisted living, and memory care residents. They will receive exceptional care including chef-prepared meals, life-enriching activities, and personalized concierge services.
"We are excited to bring Kisco's renowned approach to senior living to Massachusetts with the opening of The Newbury of Brookline,” says Andy Kohlberg, Kisco Senior Living President and CEO. “Our commitment to creating environments that foster meaningful connections, wellness, and personalized care is at the heart of this community.”
Finegold Alexander is proud to be a part of and bringing innovative senior living to the Fisher Hill community for years to come.
