Last week, Principals Ellen Anselone, AIA, LEED, and Tony Hsiao, AIA, LEED AP, Senior Associate Josephine Penta, AIA LEED AP, NCARB, and Designer Micajah Tucker, attended the Massachusetts Library Association Conference, The Heart of the Community! We enjoyed two days of catching up with colleagues, meeting new faces, and playing our MLA Connections game. The connections winners are Leah Ellenbogen and Mary Carney-Phillips! Be on the lookout for your Mike’s Pastry’s Cannoli Kit! (See below for connections answers!)
Key Takeaways
- Designing and operating a library is a collaborative effort. The range of conference attendees—from book sellers, furniture vendors, architects, and of course librarians—shows how many people play a role in creating the public libraries we all enjoy.
- Flexible, multipurpose rooms are critical to providing unique events for a community. An open space with moveable furnishings can accommodate a variety of events—such as two-person Shakespeare plays, Mother Goose Story Hour, and Dungeons and Dragons—on the same day!
