Finegold Alexander Architects and project partner engineering firm Salas O’Brien have been supporting several Massachusetts universities in promoting decarbonization on campus with thoughtful design analysis and recommendations. In the Green Building & Design piece Finegold Alexander Architects on Achieving Campus Decarbonization through Design Collaboration Rebecca Berry AIA, LEED AP breaks down the firms’ roles in the two projects, Wellesley College Severance Hall study, investigating how an early 20th century residence hall can be designed and upgraded to address accessibility and sustainability through infrastructure opportunities, and the Amherst College energy master plan, consisting of an envelope and architectural review of eight buildings for analysis of energy loss and potential improvement opportunities, as well as the design of a new campus Energy Center.
