Twenty nine years ago, Boston’s Hatch Memorial Shell reopened after an extensive renovation conducted by Finegold Alexander Architects. Having previously fallen into dis-repair, FA’s design included stage modernization, new lighting, rehabilitation of the exterior and shell, refurbishment of below-grade dressing and rehearsal rooms, and restoration of original Art Deco details. The renovation also made this unique Boston landmark accessible!

While this year’s annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular and concert has been canceled due to the coronavirus, the Pops will present “A Boston Pops Salute to Our Heroes,” a pre-recorded broadcast that will honor those who have lost their lives during the COVID-19 crisis. Featuring a mix of newly created content as well as highlights from fireworks spectaculars from years past, the special will air on Bloomberg Television, Bloomberg Radio, and Boston’s WHDH-TV, on Saturday, July 4, starting at 8 p.m.

FA wishes one and all a happy, safe, and festive Fourth!
