Finegold Alexander’s Eliot Innovation School at 585 Commercial Street project was recently featured in the November/December2022 Architectural Products Magazine, highlighting best practices for K-12 architectural design incorporated into the design.
The project transformed a 1960s Food & Drug Administration building into 21st century learning environment that elevated Boston’s longest-running school. The article highlights various practices and considerations our team incorporated on the project such as lighting, learning space upgrades, and safety. Principals, Regan Shields Ives and Christopher Lane, discussed the various decisions made when designing the school to ensure it met needs of the students, teachers and community for today and adaptable for the future.
