Built in 1884, this National Landmark is a 25,000-square foot, 16-sided rotunda and serves as a unique venue for arts exhibitions, theatrical performances and community events. Originally designed to house a 50’ x 400’ panoramic mural depicting the Battle of Gettysburg, such panorama displays dotted the cities of the United States and Europe.
Finegold Alexander helped create a Master Plan that will respond to a wide range of users. The restorations include the copper dome and central skylight, improvements to the Mills Gallery, and assistance with grant applications for exterior envelope restoration. FA was actively involved in the South End community, City of Boston, and developer discussions which led to the incorporation of BCA facilities into the new adjacent development.
