Finegold Alexander was commissioned by the Berkshire School for renovation and addition to historic Berkshire Hall, the main campus administrative and classroom building at the base of Mt. Everett. A 7,200 SF addition containing new classrooms, head of school and administrative offices, and a multi-purpose Great Room with exterior terrace complements the original design. The classical revival Berkshire Hall (1931) was completely rehabilitated including updates to classrooms, offices, a restored Fentress reading room,
a student gallery and gathering space at its core. Exterior work included replacement of stucco, new windows and a rebuilt
cupola. This project received the Preservation Massachusetts Tsongas Award.
